Weekly Weigh-in #31: Wakeup Call at the Scale

I'm going to be brief: We gained. We know why--too many "comfort foods" (Goettafest? Sundae bar at Michelle's? PB&Js as snacks? They add up.) Sure, we still worked out--but not enough to burn those extra calories.

Jay
Starting weight: 301 pounds
Current weight: 255 pounds
Pounds lost this week: (1) pound
Total pounds lost: 46 pounds

Susan
Starting weight: 238 pounds
Current weight: 189 pounds
Pounds lost this week: (.5) pound
Total pounds lost: 49 pounds

This week, our plan is to return to our Mr. and Mrs. Get Fit roots. When we first started this lifestyle, we were extra careful about each bite we took and extra hard-core about each workout. And the pounds melted off. We've got to get back to that mentality to break out of this slump and start losing again.

Plateaus suck! Sometimes having a week where you go off plan and have a little gain ends up having a net positive affect the following week. Good luck this week!

It's okay to go astray once in awhile. Sometimes when you indulge, it's like you get it out of your system, and you're ready to go forward stronger than ever!

It sounds like you guys could use some new motivation. Buy a fitness magazine or DVD, some new skinny clothes, or try some weight loss shakes or something. Just something to change things up and make you stick to your goals.

It's normal to go off a little bit on your diet. The most important thing is to never enter in denial mode and running away from the scale.
You guys are in a good mind set.
