Weekly Weigh-in #36: Stalling Out

You know that awful feeling in the pit of your stomach when your car's engine suddenly stalls in the middle of an intersection? That's sort of how Mr. and I felt this morning.

We both gained. We both knew last week sucked in terms of our eating and exercise. Yet we both are not about to give up--being fit feels too good to let it slip away.

Jay
Starting weight: 301 pounds
Current weight: 256 pounds
Pounds lost this week: (1) pound
Total pounds lost: 45 pounds

Susan
Starting weight: 238 pounds
Current weight: 185 pounds
Pounds lost this week: (1.5) pound
Total pounds lost: 53 pounds

There you have it. This week, we are determined to mitigate the damage and perhaps even lose beyond that. Jay needs to get the personal training going. I need to actually exercise daily. And we need to be extra disciplined with the food (and booze) we put in our mouths.

The week is over and success is waiting for you. It's so good that you share the downs as well as the ups because we're all gonna have these weeks ahead of us.

Inspired by you both, I'm heading out the door to do my first lunchtime walk - hoping to make it a daily habit.

Wish me luck!

Hang in there. Every time I've lost weight and gotten to a point where I was "happy" with my appearance and felt really good, I started to slide. Just one little cookie, just one cosmo, just one, just one, just one...and then the skipping exercise would quickly follow and HELLO - back on 10 pounds would come.

That being said, you guys are in it for the long haul. My favorite WW leader told us, with weight loss it's not even one day at a time like it is with other addictions, it is one meal at a time. You have to be willing to pick yourself up after each slip and start fresh and commit to the next meal.

This helped me tremendously stop having the TOTAL "GAIN" days, where I would slip in the morning and give up on the entire day and eat and avoid exercise. Instead, if I slip early, I try now to make it up immediately with less in the next meal and extra exercise.

Best of luck! My hubby and I are following your leads on our own way back to fitness.
