I wrote about this on my other blog, but I wanted to share with our Mr. and Mrs. Get Fit readers as well: Mr. and I made a 2009 New Year's resolution. We want to get financially fit, like we did in 2008 with our physical health.
It's really interesting how similar the two goals are, if you think about it. Both losing weight and gaining wealth require serious, permanent lifestyle changes that you can live with. They both take enormous commitment and patience, which will be tested in lots of ways throughout the journey. For us, the end goals are quite formidable and may even seem impossible. Yet, getting physically and finacially fit are so incredibly worth all the effort, we are willing to take on a new challenge.
Mind you, we haven't stopped trying to get fit. Our goal weights still hang out there like big shiny trophies to seize. But we think we've got the hang of this fit thing, and we're ready to add something new to our regimen of change.
If you really want to keep up with how we're doing at eliminating debt and saving for a rainy day, stop by Working Moms Against Guilt periodically. That's where I'll be sharing progress. (I just didn't have it in me to start yet another blog, no matter how much I love it.) In fact, I've already written about the fruits of our first week's labor here.
